IOFS AND IFPA VISITED AGRITEK / FARMTEK ASTANA 2023

 

The Islamic Organization for Food Security and the International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) attended the Official Opening Ceremony of AgriTek/FarmTek Astana 2023. The delegation was able to develop new business connections with agri-food players at the event. AgriTek/FarmTekAstana’2023 is one of the major agricultural events in Kazakhstan, taking place in Astana at the International Exhibition Center «EXPO», with over 150 companies from Kazakhstan and around the world participating. The objective of the Exhibition is to provide a platform for specialists in agriculture to exchange experience and present new technologies, and provide an opportunity for various stakeholders to establish joint business projects. The exhibition will run from March 29 to March 31.

IFPA BUSINESS MATCHING PLATFORM FOR OIC AGRI-FOOD PLAYERS

Through the #IFPA platform, Atyab International Services (AIS), #Oman met with Alan Company, #Kazakhstan, a producer of processing products from fruits and vegetables. The companies discussed the possibility of future collaboration, in which AIS will provide product certification services, such as obtaining Halal and product compliance certificates for exporting products to #GCC.

On the 19th of March in #Doha, the #AgriteQ Conference and Exhibition 2023 launched with an opening speech from Mr. Saleh Lootah, CEO of the International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA). Mr. Saleh A. Lootah introduced the audience to a presentation on the strategy of the development of IFPA and the unique #B2B platform that has been launched for the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( #OIC ) under eagis of its specialized institution, the Islamic Organization for Food Security, with the aim of enhancing intra-OIC trade and prosperity.

Following the AgriteQ Session on Agricultural Services and Technologies, the Director General of IOFS, H.E. Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet delivered a keynote statement on the programs and initiatives of the IOFS and IFPA. The Director General then launched a video on the Second IOFS High Level Forum, to be held in Astana, #Kazakhstan on 6-8 June, 2023 and invited prospective stakeholders to cooperate with the IOFS through the High Level Forum platform.

After the statement, the Director General of IOFS in his capacity as a Chairman of IFPA, along with HE Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri, as Chairman of the Executive Board of IOFS, initiated a Signing Ceremony of IFPA. International IFPA signed Membership Agreements with six new companies, including:
1. Mazzraty: a 7 factory farm based in Qatar, the first company in Qatar to involve a full cycle of production, which guarantees full quality control.
2. Agrico Agricultural Development: farming systems that provide fresh vegetables, fruits and seafoods for over 70 years in Qatar.
3. COMEX Poultry Equipment Technologies: Turkiye- based company that produces feeding, irrigation, lighting, heating-ventilation, feed silos, feed transport and cage systems, and digital and computerized control systems.
4. QITAF: a large producer of dates in Palestine;
5. Hajor Arabia for Food industry food industry producer from Saudi Arabia;
6. Al-Sanabel Qatari Company: operating in Farming, Animal Feed business activities in Qatar.

The Islamic Organization for Food Security and International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) continue to raise public awareness on the practical projects of the Organization at #AgriteQ2023 and invite prospective partners to the Second IOFS High Level Forum, to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan on 6-8 June, 2023.

The IOFS and IFPA delegation held meetings with several companies at #AgriteQ to discuss joining hands in the implementation of projects, such as Bakery Supply Chain, Vertical Farming Industry and Sheep Farming Development. All participants of Agriteq noted the importance and demand of the Organization’s work, given the current global outlook on food security, and the crucial need for solidarity within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) Geography. The unique B2B platform of IFPA also garnered interest among representatives of various companies displayed at the Agriteq Exhibition.

On the second day of the Agriteq Exhibition and Conference representatives of Islamic Organization for Food Security and International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) delivered speeches on the activities and programs of the organization and association to raise awareness and call for strategic partnerships and collaboration.

The IFPA Head of International Memberships, Gulsum Kenenbayeva, reported that IFPA, as a subsidiary of the IOFS, is translating the IOFS #G2G vision and mission through its unique #B2B platform for all necessary strategic objectives, to enable a resilient and sustainable private sector in intra-OIC trade. This comes in addition to, a wholesome approach “from gene-to-fork” that meets all Halal food safety and security standards, as well as national and transnational food sector development and sustainable food reserves.

The speaker shared the goals and objectives of the organization, introduced the Bakery Supply Chain Project, as well as Kazakhstan’s trade mission to Qatar and the plan forward, including a logistical scheme and parties coordination scheme.

The second half of the day included a presentation from Mr. Talgat Kupeshev, IOFS #Trade and #Investment Manager. The speaker introduced the practical projects of IOFS that are currently being implemented with #GCC countries , starting from the state of #Qatar: Sheep Farming Development and Vertical Farming Industry.

In short, the Sheep Farming Development project aims to utilize the comparative advantage of one country (in this particular case, Kazakhstan) and provide other countries a sustainable supply of products ( in this case, premium quality lamb meat), in order to meet the domestic demands of the country.

The second half of the presentation included an introduction to the Vertical Farming Industry project, which aims to adopt Japanese technological advances in seeds, digital technologies, and LED illumination with the potentials of low cost materials and their abundance in Kazakhstan, the hosting country. Mr. Kupeshev highlighted that the pilot project was created with prospects to be transferred to other Member States of the #OIC.

After the presentations, IOFS and IFPA continued to welcome and introduce the participants of #AgriteQ to the exhibition booth displaying the programs and initiatives of the organization and its subsidiary.

On March 15, Qatar’s International Agricultural Exhibition(AgriteQ) launched in #Doha, with the aim of accelerating the means to achieving the goals of Qatar National Food Strategy. This year, AgriteQ is celebrating its 10th edition from 15-19 March at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). The Islamic Organization for Food Security and International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) were invited to attend the august exhibition by the Ministry of Municipality.

The Openning Ceremony of the Event was launched by H.E. Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdullaziz bin Turki Al-Subaei, Minister of Municipality. After the keynote address, the guests and delegation from the Ministry were given a VIP Exhibition Tour, which also encompassed a visit through the #IOFS and IFPA booth.

The IOFS , and its subsidiary, IFPA welcomed all #AgriteQ2023 guests to their booth, where various information was displayed on the activities of the organization and association. IFPA presented and distributed products from the Kazakh Research Institution for Processing Food, Jarvis Eurasia, Semei Argo Invest, and KondiZ Distribution at the exhibition booth. Local and international partners were able to learn more about IOFS and IFPA and discuss prospects for collaboration.

It is important to note, that the AgriteQ Platform provides local and international stakeholders an opportunity to exchange expertise, discover trends and developments, and seize business opportunities. The event participants were able to explore a wide range of agricultural technologies and equipment, as well as meet key decision-makers, gain valuable insights and discover best practices.

WORKING SESSIONS WERE CONDUCTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL IFPA WITH HONORARY AND CORPORATE MEMBERS


On 9 March 2023, International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) subsidiary of Islamic Organization for Food Security gathered all of its members for an online working meeting, where it held an opening presentation on, IOFS investment projects, IFPA Strategy, IFPA perspectives, and #B2B sessions.

HE Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet, Director General of IOFS and Chairman of IFPA outlined the main activities and achievements of IFPA and Mr. Saleh Lootah, as the new CEO of IFPA introduced IFPA members with the primary focuses of IFPA for 2023. An introductory presentation and discussion session was also conducted on prospective investment projects of IOFS/IFPA, including Sheep Farming Development, Bakery Supply Chain, and Vertical Farming, all of which generated great interest among IFPA Members.

The online event was attended by about 40 participants from 20 different #OIC Member States. Each participant, inluding representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, agri-food Union as well as top agri-food companies, had the opportunity to introduce themselves with the objective of prospective networking and collaboration.

28th EDITION OF GULFOOD, THE WORLD’S LARGEST FOOD AND BEVERAGE EVENT THIS YEAR BROUGHT TOGETHER VISITORS FROM 125 COUNTRIES, INCLUDING IFPA MEMBERS


#Gulfood had more than 5000 exhibitors from the food and beverage sector from more than 100 nations. It serves as a significant annual venue for business networking, gaining knowledge of the most recent developments and thought leaders in the field, discussing significant challenges facing the food and beverage industry, and calling for collaboration across the food sector.

Along with other #IFPA corporate members, Mr. Raif SAFIN, CEO of Amar Holding Group, Mr. Syed Waqar Ahmad, Director General of JARVIS EURASIA, Mr. Mohib Ahmed Khan, General Manager of Atayb International Services, Mr. Almat Berdenov, CEO of Optograd, and others attended Gulfood 2023 and engaged in fruitful business discussions. These meetings included those with IFPA partner UAE Food & Beverage Manufacturers Group in Dubai and new IFPA CEO Mr. Saleh Lootah.

The UAE Food and Beverage Manufacturers Group introduced and launched “Ishraq,” one of the key programs that will help the UAE grow economically and provide new job opportunities, at Gulfood 2023.
