Mr. Vladimir N. Kozhevnikov, Executive Director of the Dairy Union of Kazakhstan, invited IFPA, an IOFS Subsidiary, to participate in an annual meeting of the Union’s members in Kazakhstan on April 7, 2022. The gathering was held in a hybrid format at Astana Atameken NCC and via Zoom. IFPA presented its activities to Dairy Union of Kazakhstan members and invited them to engage in the IFPA intra-OIC agri-food trade and investment platform, as well as to work on dairy projects to boost export potential.

There are more than 50 members of the Union that cover 70% of the domestic market. Kazakhstan’s dairy industry is the most technologically advanced and rapidly expanding in the country, with a stock of outstanding genetic potential. However, dairy goods manufacture does not satisfy the needs of the domestic market; the dairy product shortage is projected to be at least 500 thousand tons per year, and the industry requires support to encourage its development.
